84-88 Door Panel Water Shields & Insulation
Get rid of your stained, musty smelling jute insulation and the failing water shields. The water shields fit up against the door shell to keep moisture from reaching the insulation and interior door panels. The insulation fits onto the water shields to minimize outside noise and reduce cold drafts.
We recommend using 3M weatherstrip adhesive for installation (see part #51417, not included) but butyl tape or even duct/masking tape will work as well. One kit required per car.

Note: The water shields originally came underneath all of the door bracketry. The correct way to install them would be to drill out all rivets holding the brackets to door, install the shields and then reinstall the brackets. Although, they can easily be installed without removing brackets by cutting them around the components and use of silicon to get a true water seal.
